<p>Since 1929 Gherzi has been provided high-value consultancy services covering management, technology, logistics and engineering. For more than 70 years, we have seen significant growth and geographic expansion of our services, that has been characterised by the development of long-term relationships with many major companies and organisations throughout the world. <br>
<br>
1929 – The founder and pioneer<br>
In April 1929 Dr. Giuseppe L. Gherzi returned from a prolonged stay in the United States and he laid the foundation stone for today's Gherzi Group by creating the first company in Zürich-Switzerland. Originally, the company was called the Gherzi Textile Development Co. As a young economist, well primed with the teachings of F. L. Taylor and equipped with a wealth of experience gathered in the American Industry, he recognized the vast industrial counselling potential that existed in Europe for the principles of "Scientific Management".<br>

1929–1959 – The integrated textile consultants<br>
Very soon the importance of policies of cost-consciousness and clear organizational structures of industrial plants was recognized. As a logical consequence, additional services were offered to textile manufacturers such as costing systems customized to their specific operations. The costing System G was born. Another breakthrough came in 1948 when the advantages of integrating industrial planning and plant construction with technological and organizational concepts became increasingly apparent. This realization led to the formation of Gherzi Engineering Zürich. As a result, the Gherzi Group was then able to offer the textile industry a full range of essential advisory services in the technological, organizational and engineering areas. <br>

1960–1989 – The American and Asian challenge<br>
Our in-house so developed capabilities formed a sound basis for Gherzi's continuous growth in Europe and for its diversification into management and engineering services for other sectors of industries. Offices were established in Milano, Barcelona, Munich and Istanbul. A larger geographic expansion followed later in the Americas as well as in Asia. In 1960 Gherzi Eastern Ltd. was founded in Mumbai and was one of the first successfull European/Indian joint ventures, in association with the Wadia Group, one of India's leading business houses.<br>

1990–today – Growing through know-how<br>
In the nineties value addition was created for clients by the development of dedicated practice and geographical leaders within the group. In this context, in 2001 Gherzi strengthened its presence in Turkey by founding Gherzi Istanbul Danismanlik Limited and, in 2002, Gherzi van Delden GmbH in Krefeld, started its operations with a strong focus on the German as well as the Eastern European market. Simultaneously innovative business practices were further developed, based on our logistics and supply chain know-how. Today we are a truly diverse consulting company with a cumulative experience of over 7'500 successful projects, offering an extensive range of services internationally from our 300 strong employee base.<br>

From our original Textile Technology and Engineering skills base, we have expanded and diversified our consulting services to meet the ever changing needs of today's business world. With our long heritage of practical experience, our ever-expanding knowledge base, and a wealth of extensive contacts within the industry we have much to offer our clients in helping them meet the competitive technical and management challenges posed by today 's global market place. <br>
